Spencer Abel’s extensive auditing and accounting advisory experience will expand CrossCountry’s support of Seattle-based companies in the accounting advisory space
December 11, 2020 (McLean, VA) — CrossCountry Consulting, a leading business advisory firm, today announced that Spencer Abel has joined the firm’s Seattle office as a Director in their Accounting Advisory practice. With over a decade of experience leading global clients through complex accounting and auditing issues, SEC filings and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, Mr. Abel will be responsible for client delivery, strategy, and practice and business development.
As a skilled external audit and accounting professional serving both public and private companies, Mr. Abel has extensive experience in U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and SEC reporting. His broad industry experience will further enhance CrossCountry’s growing leadership in the accounting advisory market space and deepen their relationship base and delivery model with the Seattle market. The firm regularly assists CFOs, controllers, and their organizations anticipate and respond to accounting and transaction-related demands.

Most recently, Mr. Abel spent over 13 years at Ernst & Young LLP as Audit Senior Manager where he served a broad range of companies, gaining extensive experience in resolving complex technical accounting and financial reporting matters. He also served within EY’s Global Exchange Program where he led audits and advisory work for multinational SEC registrants in Brussels, Belgium.
